WHERE WE ARE NOW & BIG ANNOUNCMENT

Sorry for the lack of blog post, but in all honesty our travel has been limited because of the need to tend to medical issues! No worries – all is good! We are both doing well and enjoying the warm Florida winter! During our first three years of full – time travel, we visited 30 states and marked many items off of our bucket list! Over the past year, we have not added any new states, but we have continued to knock items off of our bucket list! Although we did not travel great distances, this year was anything but boring! Our travels were limited to the state of Florida and we covered the state from the beaches of Destin to Key West! Staying in Florida enabled us to spend a lot of time in one of our favorite place – the Keys, RV at some of Florida’s outstanding state parks, put our Disney passes to good use, ride out not one, but two hurricanes, and take our first cruise, which was immediately followed by our second cruise! Since we could not venture out of Florida this year, family headed south to visit us, which provided opportunities to share some of our favorite places with them! In an effort to keep this short and sweet, I will cover the highlights only!

MORE TIME IN THE KEYS

One plus of being stuck in Florida is being able to spend time in the Keys! And spend time in the Keys we did! I will let the pictures do the talking!

STATE PARK CAMPING

Booking the more popular state parks in Florida is no simple task! Knowing this, I was prepared and booked the ones we wanted eleven months in advance and Gus was able to call Gamble Rogers, Top Sail Hill Preserve, Henderson Beach, John Pennekamp Coral Reef and Bahia Honda home for a while. If you have not checked these parks out, I highly recommend you do! Our favorites are Bahia Honda, Gamble Rogers beachside and Top Sail!

PUTTING OUR DISNEY PASSES TO USE!

Since Florida is our state of residency, we are taking advantage of the resident’s annual passes for Disney World! I believe we visited Disney World parks 64 times over the past year! The best thing about being an annual pass holder is Disney does not have to be a 12 to 15 hour day! We often go for just a few hours. We do a small area of a park, grab a bite to eat and head home! Because we did not spend a hundred dollars plus on a day ticket, we don’t feel the need to get our money’s worth by doing a marathon day! We have so much fun at Disney that we forget to take pictures!

ANNOUNCMENT!!!

Two dreams I have had since I was a child were to travel the country and to publish a novel. Well, the traveling of the country was going perfectly, but I still had a half finished mystery novel waiting to be finished! Guess what – I finished it and sent it to some publishers and tah -dah signed a publishing contract! My debut novel Run! Katie! launches on June 13th!!! This spring, summer and fall will find us traveling up and down the east coast n what we are calling “The Gus Bus Book Tour!” We are spending the month of June in our old hometown before making our way to Bar Harbor, Maine. We are really excited to connect with people we haven’t seen in years, meet new people, and to revisit some of our favorite places!
